Luna & Ollie Adopted March 2022!!!
LUNA and OLLIE finally found their Forever Homes! It is always a great day when a senior pet is adopted and even more terrific when two are adopted together! A gentleman came by the Humane Society and specifically wanted a senior pet. He understood that they can have a difficult time getting adopted and wanted to change that. When he met Luna and heard her story - he fell in love. Luna had been in the shelter system for years. We had rescued her from another shelter that was closing and despite being a terrific dog - had not found the perfect home for her yet. Initially Luna wasn’t a fan of other dogs but we worked with her and as time went by she started making friends with other dogs. The gentleman that wanted to adopt her- also fell in love with Ollie. Ollie had come to the shelter as a stray. He was 12+ years old and blind but loved people almost as much as he loved his cookies. Being a senior and special needs dog, we knew it would take time for the perfect adopter to come around. Fortunately after working with both dogs - Luna took a liking to Ollie and accepted him as her potential little brother. During Luna’s extended time at the shelter, she made many friends with volunteers and so many came out to say their goodbyes and wish Luna and Ollie the best of luck in their forever home. We’d like to thank Everyone that took the time to bond with Luna over the years and support her journey. Luna and Ollie have been loving their new home, exploring their new backyard and finding their favorite places to nap. We don’t know if Luna was just waiting to find the perfect family or the perfect little brother in Ollie but we could not be more happy that they all finally found each other.
